Robert Mascatello is the founder of Steam Pilots and Mascatello Arts, LLC. He is a graduate of SUNY Binghamton with a double major in Biology and Computer Modeling. For his Bachelor thesis, he developed a computer simulation of Protein Synthesis, having completed a curriculum in Software Development, Advanced Probability and Biological Systems Theory.

Robert spent 40 years in the IT field, most recently as a consultant for a global IT Consultancy - where he was a Program Manager in Cloud Computing and Data Analytics Solutions. He is an accomplished musician - and has taught guitar using an original method. He was the founder of 3DMASC, LLC - a 3D printing and educational company where he volunteered his time with a STEM academy serving underserved communities. There he taught a curriculum which combined 3D Printing and Microbiology. Bob lives with his wife Shannan in Northern Virginia, and has 3 adult children.

STEM, STEAM and AI Experience

  • Mascatello Arts, LLC - provides one-on-one and group lessons in Visual Arts for K-12 children

  • Future Kings STEM Academy - As a volunteer, worked with the organization’s senior leadership to create a curriculum that combined 3D Printing and Molecular Biology.

  • Planetary Music - taught guitar and piano to over sixty children, ages 6-17

  • Guitar Angels - As a volunteer taught guitar at Community events hosted at Fairfax County, VA public libraries

  • Montgomery Country, MD - As a volunteer conducted Music Therapy Sessions for Autistic children

  • Loudoun County Public Schools - as a Channel Distributor for Makerbot Corp, provided 3D Printing equipment and group lessons to middle schoolers

  • Central Union Mission, Washington, DC - worked with corporate donors to procure and install PCs and educational software in a newly formed computer lab. Taught Computer Skills 101 class for approximately two dozen after-school youths
