Open AI recently received a multi-billion dollar investment from Microsoft in exchange for 49% o its profits.

  • Microsoft offers a number of AI Products, including Copilot, Azure AI, and Bing Image Creator. The company recently introduced several lightweight AIs, including Phi-3-mini. In addition, Microsoft has made a multi-billion investment into Open AI - entitling it to 49% of the AI Research and Devlopment Company.

  • Google AI, a subsidiary of Alphabet’s Google division has a robust lineup that includes Gemini (foremerly Bard) and DeepMind.

  • According to its web site, Anthropic is an AI safety and research company that's working to build reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The company recently received a $4 billion investment from Amazon. Its Claude 3 Sonnet AI features an intuitive natural language interface, but does not currently rival other leading AI Large Language Models in terms of content and features.

  • Midjourney AI features a sophistocated text-to-image generator that seems to outdo most of its competitors. The trade off is that the user interface is prompt driven and not intuitive.

    For now, access is only available through Discord.com; however, Midjourney has launched its own web site that promises to simplify the image generation process. But it is not availble yct.

  • Although Facebook company Meta has been developing its AI product, Llama 3, for years now, the company seems to be playing catch up when it comes to AI.
